#FBF Adventure Re-cap: Greece Part IV

Happy Friday Friends! Another post I'm thankful to have found that scheduling button ;)

Another Friday in Greece-hope you're not getting tired of hearing about it! If so, fear not, today's our last Greek rendition of #FBF!

We couldn't go to Greece without rounding the trip out with a visit to Santorini.

I do have to preface this post with a warning. Something about Ios completely captivated me. I was so excited to visit Santorini and finally get to see those postcard pictures of Greece in person (most of the pictures you see in Greece we were told are probably taken in Santorini)! Once we got there, I was sadly disappointed. I was expecting it to resemble more of Ios, but this island was, in terms of looks, probably the most different from any of the islands we visited. While there were parts that had the traditional white and blue buildings, Santorini featured a lot of multi-colored buildings, which you can tell for some strange reason bummed me out, and lots and lots of tourists. I think my downfall was having expectations, and really high expectations at that. As long as you can avoid that trap you'll be golden. With that being said, don't be fooled, Santorini is an absolutely beautiful island with a lot to offer and still offered up the best sunset I experienced while there and some pretty delectable food and overall amazing memories with friends.

Back to our trip: we met up with some of my sister's friends from Canada on this island and therefore spent the majority of our time here. Santorini is known, aside from its sunsets and donkey rides (which sadly we didn't do), for several different kinds of beaches. We decided to explore the black-sand beach and the red beach. When we went, the temperature was just starting to warm up so luckily the beaches weren't quite hot yet, but that also meant the water was pretty chilly. That certainly didn't stop us from cliff jumping though! If you get a chance-and you can handle heights and water ok, do it! You won't regret it.

This island was explored on foot and with ATV's. We indulged a little too much here as we found some of the cutest little deli's along the coastal road that had the best traditional Greek food, and baklava will never taste as good as it did in Greece on the beach. We also explored the volcano, one of only eight super volcanoes in the world (if that sounds familiar it's because I mentioned another one I've been to in NM- Valles Caldera).

And that, ladies and gentlemen wraps up our adventure in Greece!
