I'm Back!...From A Little Beach Getaway

Hello, Hello and Happy Hump-day!

Hope you all have been lovely. I've had what feels like a bit of a hiatus over here on the blog as I'm getting back into the swing of things. Then as I sat to type this post, I realized I seem to have a lot to say, so I think rather than a single post I'll break it up.

So, let's get started! Last week, the hubs and I were on vacation in Cancun, Mexico! We've been wanting to plan a beach vacation pretty much ever since our Europe trip last year (to come in a future #FBF post). In fact, I'm not even sure I let us settle back into life before I was asking where are we going next? True story. And truly a testament to how great the hubs is for putting up with my craziness and what often seems to be an incessant need to travel and adventure somewhere.

Anyway, neither of us had ever done that crystal clear blue water before, nor had we done a vacation that centered around the ocean before. Naturally, it quickly became the next thing we had to add on our "must-do" list.

How we settled on Cancun? First, did you know that Cancun has only been a tourist destination for about 30 years? Crazy! Second, if I'm being honest, Cancun wasn't my first choice of places to visit. Bali was calling my name, something fierce-but sadly it just didn't seem feasible if I wanted to have a proper trip. Next, I was planning for the Caribbean, but one thing led to the other and timing just wasn't going to work for that either. I had a couple of friends who had recently visited Cancun around the time I was planning this trip, so I reached out to them and they each raved about their experience. So Cancun it was!

Boy am I glad we landed here-it was absolutely perfect! For once, I really did absolutely nothing but relax, fully enjoy the undivided time with the hubby (this was probably my favorite! I love hanging out with this guy, and too often I find our schedule pulls us in so many directions, a good amount of quality time can be difficult to find), take in the scenery around us, ate far too much [incredible] food and soaked up the sun whenever we could.

Another thing we decided to do this vacation that neither of us had ever done before was stay at an all-inclusive resort. I had never given resorts any thought simply because traditionally, I explore too much when I'm on vacation so a resort really wasn't worth the expense if I didn't want to actually stay there. This time, we knew the beach was our intended vacation so a resort seemed to fit in with our plans pretty nicely. Let me tell you, I am now completely sold on the all-inclusive resort experiences and can't wait to go back!

Now that I've teased you with pictures of gorgeous water and beach bliss, I'll leave you with a sneak peak of the view from our hotel room and pick up next time with my review of the resort, our week's activities and a little excursion.

Have a wonderful week, friends!
